‘Milestone’ is situated in North Lochboisdale, on the left (south) of the main road, one mile west from Lochboisdale ferry terminal. The house stands in over an acre of landscaped gardens, extending down to the rocky shore of Loch Boisdale.

A double room and a single room both face south and enjoy views of the garden, sea loch and hills beyond. The third - single or double as required - faces north with views of the local hills. All bedrooms have a hospitality tray and TV.  There are two bathrooms: one with a shower, wash hand basin and WC; the other offering bath with shower over, wash hand basin and WC.

Guests are welcome to join the family in the lounge where there is Sky TV. Guests travelling with laptop or PDA can access the internet via our BT home wifi hub.

Breakfast is served in the dining room at a time to suit guests and ferry departures. Bus services (south to Eriskay and north to Benbecula and North Uist) pass the door. We will meet guests off the ferry, and provide transport for early morning ferries. Cyclists are welcome: cycles can be stored in our garage.

Kilbride Campsite is set amidst the crofts and houses along the shore of the Sound of Barra, overlooking, overlooking a delightful sheltered beach of white shell sand and with the rocky summit of Eiseabhal as a backdrop. It’s well-placed for a stop-over on a tour of the islands, but easily justifies a stay of two or three days.

Within an easy walk or a short drive there’s unrivalled opportunities for  hill-walking, wildlife-watching, beach-combing, photography,  sea-kayaking - and much much more besides.  There’s shops withiin a short drive and a hotel bar and restaurant within walking distance.

The campsite offers 20 hardstandings and 7 grass pitches with electric, and 3 grass pitches exclusively for cyclists and walkers. There’s a quality amenity building with 3 WCs and showers each for male and female, disabled wc and shower, dish washing included in the price, with laundry facilities available for a modest charge.

Families with young children are especially welcome, and their pets too: the pitches are very generous, with plenty of space in between.
